DESIGN AND MATERIALS OF THE GAMING KEYBOARD
Mechanical keyboard
We left for the end a subjective aspect but very characteristic of gaming keyboards: their aesthetics. Beyond user tastes, there are some features that may be of interest to us when we play.
It is common for this type of gaming keyboard to offer lighting that has its uses beyond being attractive: that you can play in low light and recognize the position of the main keys. There are some more sober, focusing on monochrome lighting and others more colorful, RGB. However, it is possible to turn off this light.
There are also keyboards that incorporate different keys to differentiate them from the rest, although in the case of Cherry setups we can do that on our own, purchasing them individually. There is a surprising market for colors and textures.
If you plan to spend hours in front of the screen, the option of having a palm rest can be very useful. Although it is not a differential factor, we can purchase it separately.
Finally, a few notes on the materials and the way the characters are printed. If you are looking for resistance against heavy use, PBT keyboards stand up to the passage of time better than ABS keyboards.
When it comes to letter printing technique, the double mold of backlit keyboards stands out. However, there are more affordable options such as laser engraving, thermal sublimation, and UV printing, in increasing order of resistance.
